God's Word

We Believe

This We Believe

WHAT?

THE CHAPEL is the meeting place of an Assembly of Christians meeting in the Lord's Name alone. This assembly is not affiliated with any denomination.

WHY?

THE REASON for this undenominational stand is a sincere desire to preach and practice all that God has revealed in His Word for His people during this present church-age. There is no desire to separate from other true believers, but from those things which are contrary to the will and Word of God. Thus a scriptural fellowship is provided, where all true Christians may enjoy their spiritual privileges and assume their responsibilities.

WHO?

A HEARTY WELCOME is constantly extended to all true, born-again believers to meet and fellowship with us in the things of the Lord. We recognize but one body and one membership, that of the Body of Christ, the true Church. The unsaved are not only invited but urged to attend the services at the Chapel where they will hear only the true Word of God and the soul-saving Gospel of Jesus Christ.

THE GOSPEL WE PREACH

We stand for, and proclaim constantly the soul-saving Gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ, absolutely untainted by any modernistic sophistries and errors. This gospel we believe to be alone "the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth" (Romans 1: 16); and is defined in I Corinthians 15: 1-4 as: "Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures, He was buried, and He rose again the third day according to the scriptures

THE TRUTHS WE BELIEVE

The Scriptures: We believe that the Holy Bible was written by men divinely inspired (II Peter 1 :21). We believe the original Scriptures to be inspired, infallible, inerrant, both Old and New Testaments, sixty-six books in all. This inerrancy applies to every statement of Scripture. We believe them to be the supreme standard by which all human conduct, creeds and religious beliefs should be tried (II Timothy 3:16-17).

God: We believe there is one true God, a Trinity of Father, Son and Holy Spirit, equal in all things as to eternity, omnipotence, omniscience, omnipresence and immutability (Matthew 28:19; II Corinthians 13:14).

Christ: We believe in the virgin birth of Christ (Luke 1:26-35); His absolute impeccability (II Corinthians5:21; I Peter 2:22; I John 3:5); His vicarious death (Romans 5:6-8); His bodily resurrection from the dead (Romans 4:25; Luke 24:36-40); His visible ascension (Luke 24:50-51); His present enthronement (Hebrews 1 :3); His High Priestly

Ministry and Advocacy (Hebrews 7:25-26: I John 2:1); and His second coming to the air and earth (I Thessalonians 4:15-18; II Thessalonians 1:7-10).

Man: We believe in the total depravity of man through the fall of Adam in Eden's Garden (Genesis 3; Romans 5:1219); His absolute helplessness to please God in his unregenerate condition (Romans 3:9-19; 8:8).

Salvation: We believe in the love of God to the entire world (John 3:16); the necessity of the new birth through the Word and Spirit of God (John 3:3-7; I Peter 1 :23-25); The uselessness of human works and merit to obtain salvation (Romans 4:5; Ephesians 2:8-9; Titus 3:5); the finished work of Christ through which complete and eternal atonement for sin has been effected (John 19:30; Hebrews 9:26; 10:12); salvation by grace alone through faith (Ephesians 2:8-9; Acts 16:30-31); the efficacy of the blood of Christ, apart from which there can be no salvation (Hebrews 9:22; Ephesians 1 :7; Colossians 1 :30; I John 1 :7); The complete justification of the believer in Christ (Acts 13:38-39; Romans 5:1); the present assurance of salvation (I John 5:11-13). The present possession of eternal life by every true believer (John 5:24; 6:47); the eternal security of the genuine believer (John 10:28-30; Romans 8:35-39).

Premillennialism: We believe in the rapture of the Church at the coming of Christ to the air (I Corinthians 15:51-57; I Thessalonians 4:13-18); the revelation of Christ at His coming to the earth prior to the setting up of His millennial kingdom (II Thessalonians 1:6-10); the personal, literal reign of Christ over the earth for one thousand (1,000) years (I Corinthians 15:24-28; Revelation 19:11-20; 20:4).

Resurrection or the Dead: We believe that all the dead will be raised by the power of Christ. The resurrection of all believers at the coming of Christ to the air, and the review of their life and works (Luke 14:14; John 5:28-29; Romans 14:10-12; I Corinthians 3:11-15; 15:22-23). The unsaved dead, who went immediately at death to the place of torment, will be resurrected at the Great White Throne judgment and there be judged and consigned to the Lake of Fire to endure eternal punishment (Luke 16:19-31 ;John 5:28-29; Matthew25:46; Revelation20:11-15).

The Ordinances: We believe that all believers should be baptized by immersion, and we seek to teach this truth. (This, however, is not the door to the Church or an absolute condition of fellowship). We believe that all Christians should obey the Lord in observing the Lord's Supper. The early Christians did this the first day of the week, and we follow this practice in keeping the Lord's Supper each week (Matthew 28:19; Acts 2:41-42; 18:8; 20:7; I Corinthians 11 :23-32).

Priesthood of All Believers: We believe that all believers are priests, and have equal access and divine right to draw near to God in the Holiest, and offer up spiritual sacrifices, apart altogether from human authorization or appointment (Hebrews 10:19-22; 13:15; I Peter 2:5).

Life and Walk of Believers: We believe that all Christians should, through appreciation to Christ, and for what He has done for them, live a godly life in true separation from sin and the world, seeking to win others to the Saviour who died for them (II Corinthians 6:14-18; 7:1; Titus 2:11-14).

(These we believe to be the main doctrines of the Scriptures; however, we accept all that is taught in the Word of God.)
