Our Church

brethren

Our roots reach back to first century.  Early Christians (before they were called Christians) were called brothers, disciples, and believers.  Denominational names came much later.  We refer to ourselves as Christians or simply “brethren.”   We gather as brothers and sisters in Christ to remember Him (as He asked us to), to speak and learn of Him, and to serve Him.  We believe the church is a spiritual body more than a building.  We believe God has gifted the church with edifying graces and godly servants who encourage and build up people in faith.  We believe that the Bible is our sole authority and God’s final word, and that “faith cometh by hearing and hearing by the Word of God.”  We neither add to it, nor take away from it.  Led by the Holy Spirit, we are guided by spiritual men whom God raises up, gifting them with discernment , administration and  spiritual gifts.

Not part of any denominational  group, we have been called Plymouth Brethren by some because the way we worship is similar to the way believers in Plymouth England worshipped in the mid 1850’s.  We are just Christians however  who desire to gather together in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ, and to reflect His light and love to a world that needs to know Him.
